In the Archaeological Museum of Kos you can see the findings (from Hellenistic till post Roman times) that were discovered during excavations carried out on the island since the beginning of the century until today, mainly from the archaeological sites of the Ancient Agora, the West archaeological site, the altar of Dionysus, the Odeon and the Roman House (Casa Romana).

In the southern area of the city, in the middle of archaeological sites and monuments, you will see Hani which was constructed to serve as a place catering for the animals of travelers. Today the building hosts an exhibition of the modern history of Kos and Italian architecture.

The Folklore Museum is located in the village square, opposite the traditional mill. The museum, which is also known as "Stone Antimachiotiko House" is an old stone house based on the of 20th century architecture of Kos. In the exhibition you will see various tools, traditional furniture and old appliances. You can also see the special room with the looms and the room for the making of bread. Right next to the museum there is a henhouse and a pen for pigs.

The Ancient House - Hippocrates Garden is located in Mastichari. It is the exact replica of an Ancient Greek house of the 5th century B.C. which revives the ancient Greek way of life. It consists of the house, an arcade and a stone built theater.

One of the most interesting sights of the island is the Roman house or Casa Romana.

In 1933, the great earthquake destroyed Kos almost completely. The Italians, who then held the island, found the opportunity to redesign the town and carry out extensive excavations as they knew that under the buildings there were ancient monuments. The Italian archaeologist Laurenzi undertook the excavation and then the Italian Administration proceeded with the full restoration of the house, which was completed in 1940.

The Roman Odeon is one of the most important public buildings of the ancient city of Kos. It is located south west of the archaeological site, west of the restored Roman house (Casa Romana) and northwest of the ancient theater. It was constructed in the 1st – 2nd AD in order to host musical competitions. It also functioned as the seat of the Senate of Kos who had no political powers, but mainly attributed honors to distinguished citizens of the island.

The castle is located at the entrance of the port of Kos. It consists of two fortification walls, internal and external. The interior wall has four circular towers at its corners. The external has massive bastions at the four corners as well as battlements and cannon openings. The two walls are separated by a wide moat and communicate with a bridge.
